Portugese musician Fábio Carvalho Abrantes began his musical studies at the age of 8, studying at Sociedade Musical Gouveense Pedro Amaral Botto Machado where he still acts as a musician and teacher of the music school.

Following this, Abrantes went on to study the Tuba at Conservatório de Música de Coimbra; later joining Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas (ESART) under the supervision of Professor Ilídio Massacote, pursuing and completing the Master of Music Teaching Instrument and Class Variant Ensemble at the same institution.

Additionally, he has attended several master classes and workshops with various teachers, including

Throughout his career, Abrantes has been has performed at the Orquestra de Sopros de Coimbra, Orquestra do Conservatório de Coimbra, Orquestra Sinfónica da ESART, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, Orquestra Filarmónica das Beiras, and Orquestra Clássica do Centro.

One of the founding members of the Orquestra Ligeira de Gouveia and Quinteto de Metais de Gouveia, Abrantes has also at many renowned music establishments, such as the Conservatório de música e artes do Dão, and Agrupamento de Escolas de Santa Comba Dão.

Currently, Abrantes teaches at Escola Profissional da Serra da Conservatório de Música de Seia and Academia de Musica de Oliveira de Azeméis.
